A day in the life

The Special Services Technician is responsible for performing specialized cleaning and maintenance tasks to support service excellence. This role includes general and detail cleaning duties, floor care, and equipment upkeep. The technician must adhere to safety standards and maintain a clean and organized workspace. What you’ll do as an Exceptional Team Member Perform all basic cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including refilling dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning fixtures, and mopping floors. Move and reposition furniture as needed; empty trash containers and replace liners. Inspect trash receptacles prior to disposal and ensure appropriate waste handling. Conduct specialized cleaning, including gum removal, glass cleaning, and high-dust areas.

Respond to special requests such as flood response, spill cleanup, and restroom maintenance. Restock cleaning carts and supply closets at the end of each shift. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report maintenance or supply issues to supervisors in a timely manner. What you’ll need to be an Extraordinary Team Member High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in commercial or janitorial cleaning. Experience with floor care equipment and procedures a plus. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Willingness to work assigned hours and respond to operational needs.
