The Stuber lab is associated with the Departments of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and Pharmacology, located at the University of Washington’s Health Science Building. In this highly collaborative environment, the research lab’s main goal is to delineate the neural circuits involved in the manifestation of neuropsychiatric disorders including addiction, maladaptive eating behaviors, and anxiety.

On a larger scale, the lab aims to determine how neural circuit elements directly regulate motivated behavioral states. In order to accomplish this, the lab uses in vivo fiber photometry, 2-photon imaging, optogenetic, and chemogenetic manipulations during measurements of naturalistic behavior.
