Electrical Engineering Internship

Description Thorson Baker + Associates is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support our electrical engineering team in the design and development of institutional, retail, and commercial building projects. This position provides students with hands-on experience in supporting projects through design development, construction documents and construction administration.

Duties Include: Electrical engineering of power and lighting systems for institutional, retail and commercial building projects. Support the electrical engineering department in preparing calculations and well-coordinated, technically sound construction documents that are cost-effective, efficient and constructible in a friendly work environment.

Perform engineering calculations including energy, load, photometrics, voltage drop etc. Assist in office construction administration including review of shop drawings, respond to RFI’s, and coordinate with contractors, design team, building officials, owner, etc. through the construction phase of the building project.

Requirements

At least two years complete towards earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Familiar with AutoCAD Possess a good work ethic and be efficient in job duties Thorson Baker + Associates offers flexible work hours: 8 hours Mon-Friday 8.
