• Buffalo, NY, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: None, Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.01Hourly, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Any, Job Category: Facilities, School Cleaner – Buff/Rocsci School Position Summary Buff/Rocsci School seeks a School Cleaner to keep classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas clean, sanitary, and safe for students and staff. The cleaner plays a key part in giving children a healthy place to learn and in keeping the building in good working order. Position Details Title: School Cleaner School: Buff/Rocsci School Reports to: Head Custodian or Building and Grounds Supervisor Employment type: [FT Salary and benefits: $16.00 + vacation/PTO + Health/Vision/Dental Benefits Start date: 10/12/2026 Key Responsibilities Sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, and maintain floors in classrooms, hallways, offices, the cafeteria, and the gym. Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and dispensers, and restock soap, paper towels, and tissue. Empty trash and recycling containers and remove waste to designated areas. Wipe and sanitize desks, tables, door handles, railings, drinking fountains, and other high-touch surfaces. Clean windows, glass doors, and walls as scheduled. Respond promptly to spills and messes, using wet-floor signs and proper cleanup methods. Set up and put away tables, chairs, and equipment for school events when asked. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following product labels and safety data sheets. Report damage, safety hazards, and needed repairs to a supervisor. Keep supplies stocked, equipment clean, and the custodial closet organized. Follow school safety, security, and key-control procedures. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work with little supervision. Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely. Dependability, good attendance, and attention to detail. Ability to work respectfully around students and staff. Ability to pass required background checks and fingerprint clearance.

Working Conditions and How to Apply The work is physical and involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and lifting up to [50] pounds.

The cleaner works indoors and may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and noise from equipment, and may occasionally work outdoors, for example when clearing walkways.
