WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL LOOK LIKE As a Director of Strategy, you’ll be a champion for clients—leading accounts with strategic and creative insight. Your day-to-day will include: Managing the health of an account from the micro to the macro level. Working side-by-side with marketing teams and leadership at fortune 100 companies—from financial services to technology and beyond.
Becoming invaluable to your clients by putting structure around their challenges and building on their marketing agendas to help them fill gaps. Diving into market research and conducting interviews to uncover insights to inform strategic and creative solutions. Brainstorming and collaborating with teams to create a variety of work that wows clients.
Building brands by defining value propositions, outlining critical messages, and partnering with the creative team to develop visual and verbal identities. Running competitive audits, creating communication plans, and collaborating with creatives to activate campaigns. Impacting Sullivan’s success and momentum, with the opportunity to increase your responsibility.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM 7-10 years of relevant experience in brand, marketing, or communications strategy, with substantial experience leading complex client engagements at an agency or consultancy. Track record of rockstar client relationship building. You build real rapport with your clients, becoming a go-to resource to help them focus their thinking, while knowing when to push back.
Breadth across strategy disciplines. You bring expertise in brand strategy, messaging, communications, and campaign development and deployment, along with the versatility to work across them as client needs evolve. Experience navigating complex client organizations. You’ve managed day-to-day relationships, engaged senior stakeholders, and built alignment across competing agendas while maintaining a clear strategic direction.
A track record of leading and developing teams. You’ve overseen multidisciplinary work, delegated effectively, coached colleagues, and helped build a culture of collaboration and accountability. Excellent communication and storytelling . You make complex ideas clear and persuasive, whether you’re developing messaging, writing a brief, building a presentation, or leading a client conversation.
Passion for creative work. You recognize a strong idea, with the ability to articulate creative direction while evaluating the quality of both creative ideas and execution.
