HOURLY RATE: $21.22-24.22 (benefits information attached) JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Full-Time Groundskeeper

  • District Wide QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds Available for overtime as needed Ability to perform manual tasks including climbing, stooping, carrying supplies and equipment, and handling chemicals Ability to successfully complete a preemployment functional physical, fingerprint based background check, and Employment History Review REPORTS TO: Director of Operations JOB GOAL: The primary job goal of a school groundskeeper is to maintain all school grounds, athletic fields, and outdoor facilities in a clean, safe, and visually appealing condition.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Mowing lawns, snow removal, landscaping, aerating, seeding and fertilizing. Uses and maintains mowers, snow plows and tractors, including gas and electric powered equipment. Evaluates exterior/grounds maintenance needs of District buildings � notifies Director of Operations with concerns for repair or maintenance. Repairs miscellaneous school equipment.

Completes work orders as received by building administrators and Director of Operations. Responds to emails/workorders in a timely, professional manner. Installs playground equipment and inspects equipment on a biannual basis � repairs as needed. Prepares softball and baseball diamonds as scheduled or needed Standardizes lawn/landscaping procedures and playground inspections.

Looks for ways to streamline lawn/landscaping/grounds in general in regards to the efficiency of the whole district. Navigates AESOP system for use of your vacation, personal, sick, and comp time. Performs such other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations. Note: The above description is illustrative of most tasks and responsibilities.
