Job Title: Assistant General Manager – Sports Medicine Experience: 12 – 18 years Entity: Avana Medical – Sports Medicine Division About the Role: The AGM – Sports Medicine is a senior leadership role that involves overseeing nationwide business development, sales operations, and strategy implementation for the Sports Medicine vertical.
This individual will be instrumental in driving revenue, mentoring regional teams, and expanding Avana’s orthopedic presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the national sales strategy for Sports Medicine across all regions.
- Manage and mentor Zonal and Regional Sales Managers.
- Collaborate with the leadership team for P&L ownership, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Forge strategic alliances with top surgeons, medical institutions, and government bodies for tenders and clinical adoption.
- Conduct regular business reviews, monitor market intelligence, and lead corrective action plans.
- Drive surgeon training programs, conferences, and brand awareness campaigns.
- Ensure operational excellence through CRM adherence, compliance, and ethical selling practices. Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's in Pharma/Life Sciences; MBA is strongly preferred.
- 12–18 years of progressive experience in orthopedic/sports medicine sales.
- Deep understanding of institutional sales, team management, and key account development.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to travel across regions as needed.
