Essential Functions
This is a non-production support role, required to meet USDA, MIOSHA, HACCP, GMP, and Company standards and Core Values under the supervision of the Department Manager.
Essential functions
Supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business with particular focus on accounts payable Reviewing and closing production work orders Collecting and validating data for management reporting Assisting in other areas of accounting and general administrative tasks as assigned Responsibilities include: Transactional (core): Own the review, audit, and closure of production work orders; resolve labor, material, and overhead variances Serve as primary backup for Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, PO matching, GL coding, and vendor management Support month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries Analytical (growth into): Build and maintain recurring reports on production yields, scrap rates, and material variances Track departmental spending against budget; surface anomalies and trends to leadership Develop dashboards and ad-hoc analyses for operations and finance Recommend and implement process improvements in work order and AP workflows Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate's + strong experience considered) 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or a job-shop environment Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, modeling) ERP experience required; ability to extract and manipulate data from the system Demonstrated ability to translate operational data into clear reports and recommendations Self-directed, curious, and comfortable working across departments Effective communication skills with multiple levels of management Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Must have basic math skills. Must be able to communicate in English Must be able to perform with integrity. Must be able to problem solve and assist with resolution. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must have attention to detail. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must have excellent attendance.
Must be able to perform any other tasks assigned by leadership and/or management. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the role as outlined. Ability to work in “normal” office conditions. Ability to use computer keyboard, telephone, copying machine, labeling machine, laminating machine, etc. Ability to lift and move 20 pounds of material; including but not limited to, minor office equipment, paper, files, etc.
Ability to communicate clearly and audibly and to understand spoken requests. Ability to detect and hear emergency alarm systems, understand verbal communication, phone system paging, and to assist and respond to emergency situations calmly, quickly, and appropriately. Ability to visualize computer screens and to read and understand typed and written materials.
Ability to work in cold wet environment as necessary. Use of hands and fingers, sitting and standing, twisting, bending and reaching during the duration of the shift.
