Digital Manufacturing Developer
Job description
Avenga is an international engineering firm helping businesses operate with AI at the core. With 6,000+ experts worldwide, we combine engineering expertise with AI-native thinking to turn ambitious ideas into real-world impact across industries, technologies, and markets. At the core of the role In Prague, within the manufacturing industry, we are actively seeking a professional to strengthen our delivery team.
This role was created to support an IIoT project that turns raw data from laser profilometers into a clear, trustworthy operator view for maintenance staff. The position focuses on data quality, reliable evaluation of measurements, and the development of intuitive screens, such as status overviews, height maps and trend charts, that help plant teams make faster and better maintenance decisions.
Core skills you’ll bring Working knowledge of Thing. Worx: Things, Thing Templates, Services/JavaScript, Mashup Builder, alarms and subscriptions (an in-house Thing. Worx expert covers the platform and architecture, so basic fluency is enough). Basic knowledge of Keyence communication and data formats: LJ-series laser profilers (LJ-X / LJ-V), controller communication over Ethernet/TCP-IP or vendor SDK, structure of profile and height-image exports, invalid-point markers and units/scaling.
Understanding of profilometry fundamentals: how a laser line profiler measures, how configurations (tolerances, reference, filters) are stored, how deviations are computed, and how to reconstruct a surface or profile from measuring points and encoder/batch data. Experience with image and data stitching: combining continuous profile lines and camera/height images into one coherent picture, and rendering the results as human-readable output (height map, deviation chart, defect overlay).
Solid backend fundamentals: PostgreSQL/SQL, JSON and CSV handling, REST APIs, TLS-secured interfaces, audit and application logging. 3+ years of experience in industrial or data-visualization software, with the ability to work from a technical specification with little supervision. Careful approach to data quality, and the ability to explain a measurement result in plain words to maintenance staff.
Fluent Czech and working English.
Nice to have
Python or C#/Java for data processing and image work (Num. Py, OpenCV or similar); Kep. ServerEX/OPC or MQTT; experience with manufacturing, MES or quality-inspection systems; Power BI-ready data structures; Jira/Confluence working style. The impact you'll create Build the data intake layer: validate incoming JSON packages, reject incomplete ones (marked invalid, grey state) and maintain referential integrity between hangers, measurements, measuring points and images, exposing REST/OpenAPI interfaces through the service bus.
Design and maintain a PostgreSQL relational model. Implement the evaluation logic: per-point upper/lower limits, patterns by hanger and roller type, traffic-light status propagation, alarm life cycle, SMS/e-mail notifications and bulk limit upload by CSV. Develop the visualization layer: overview matrix, hanger detail, measuring-point detail with height map (greyscale/colour), long-term and user-range charts with historical limits, user-action log, maintenance records and role-based access (reader/administrator).
Support delivery end to end: acceptance testing, release to production, as-built documentation and data dictionary, on-site user training and hand-over to application support. Work closely with the Thing. Worx expert, the project manager and the measurement-system supplier, documenting everything you build for plant staff and the support team.
