Mechanical / Thermal Engineer

Seattle, Washington, United StatesFull-timePosted Sep 16, 2026

Job description

EPG is currently seeking a Mechanical / Thermal Engineer for one of our partners that is an established high-voltage battery and power-electronics company, bringing technology proven in demanding, high-reliability applications to a new backup-power product for AI data centers. In this position, you will own the mechanical packaging and thermal design that gets a high-voltage battery and power converter into a datacenter rack and keeps it cool under continuous duty.

Responsibilities

Design the battery-pack and power-converter enclosure for datacenter rack integration. Own the thermal strategy, air- and liquid-cooled, for continuous duty. Handle rack space, weight, access packaging, and serviceability. Integrate rack airflow and cooling; own the thermal interface with the battery team. Own ingress protection and high-power-density enclosure design.

Requirements

BS in Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years of thermal management and mechanical packaging of power electronics or battery systems. Both air- and liquid-cooling design experience. High-power-density enclosure design plus thermal simulation. This role is onsite in the Pacific Northwest. Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship (US Persons only, export-control requirement).

Preferred Qualifications

Packaging automotive or aerospace battery/power systems into stationary or industrial products. Datacenter rack standards (EIA-310, OCP) and liquid-cooling infrastructure.

Benefits

eligible for an annual performance-based bonus (typically around 7 to 8% at this level), awarded on performance after you join. Equity: a company stock option program is planned, with leadership committed to rolling it out by the end of the year. Health coverage: approximately 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.

Retirement: roughly 9% 401(k) match. Location advantage: based in Everett, WA, with no Washington state income tax. The opportunity: join a well-funded, roughly 100-person company moving like a startup, building a clean-sheet 800V product from concept to production, where your work ships rather than sits on a shelf.
