• Trades, Job Title: Service Technician Department: Service Reports To: Service Manager Location: Field Operations (Travel required) Pay Grade / Range: $20-35/hr (based on experience) Benefits: Health insurance, PTO, 401(k), company vehicle, tool allowance Summary The Service Technician is responsible for supporting repair, warranty, punch list, maintenance, and installation work related to fencing, gates, and gate operator systems. This role requires a hands-on, problem-solving individual who can adapt to a wide variety of field situations and deliver high-quality workmanship. The position supports year-round operations, works closely with department leadership and service coordination, and plays a vital role in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and quality standards for Complete Fence. Core Accountabilities Field / Installation Duties Perform repairs, warranty work, punch list items, and new installations for fencing, gates, and gate operator systems. Identify and correct quality issues, including items that are not level, square, aligned, or functioning properly. Diagnose field problems, determine practical solutions, and provide accurate repair recommendations for proposal development. Travel to customer sites as required, including occasional out-of-town assignments and potential future data center projects. Support year-round service operations, including emergency repairs and seasonal maintenance issues. Assist with fabrication and welding activities when service demand is lower. Customer Relations & Operational Support Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through quality workmanship, clear communication, and professionalism. Work alongside experienced technicians during training and assist with cross-functional service activities. Coordinate effectively with the Service Coordinator and leadership regarding scheduling, jobsite conditions, and material needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn new equipment, hardware, and installation methods. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and accurate field reporting. Ability to work independently after training.

Willingness to receive coaching and learn on the job. Ability to adapt to changing jobsite conditions, tight schedules, and unique repair scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with gate operators and automated gate systems. Welding experience. Knowledge of electrical components and low-voltage systems. Experience with specialized gate hardware, self-closing hinges, electric strikes, mag locks, and related products. Construction, maintenance, or handyman-type background. Success Factors (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Demonstrates a “figure it out” mentality in the field.

Learns quickly and adapts to new situations and growing volume demands. Takes ownership of problems and follows through to resolution. Works effectively as part of a team alongside service coordination and management. Maintains a positive attitude and willingness to grow as the department expands. Physical Requirements: On occasion, this position may require the ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

This may include tasks such as moving equipment or supplies. Employees should be physically capable of safely lifting and carrying heavy items when necessary.
