Test Development Team Lead
Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Test Development Team Lead to lead a small team of test developers responsible for validating a complex IoT collaboration platform consisting of embedded audio devices, mobile and web applications, cloud services, and Azure-based device connectivity. This role combines technical leadership, software development, quality engineering, and AI innovation.
The successful candidate will lead both manual and automated testing efforts while driving the next generation of AI-assisted test infrastructure. This includes developing intelligent systems that leverage product telemetry, source code analysis, and agent-based workflows to automatically generate, execute, and enhance test scenarios.
The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with a passion for quality, automation, and emerging AI technologies, who enjoys leading teams while remaining deeply involved in architecture and development. You will have an opportunity to help shape how quality engineering evolves in an AI-first world. Rather than maintaining traditional test systems, you will build intelligent testing capabilities that combine software engineering, cloud platforms, observability, and AI agents to improve product quality at scale across a sophisticated IoT ecosystem.
This is an opportunity to lead the transformation from conventional QA toward autonomous, AI-powered quality engineering. You will Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Test Developers and Quality Engineers. Establish team objectives, priorities, and best practices. Foster a culture that emphasizes automation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement, Collaborate closely with Software Development, DevOps, Product Management, and Customer Experience teams.
Participate in hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development activities. Test Strategy and Quality Leadership Define and execute comprehensive testing strategies across embedded systems, cloud services, web applications, and mobile applications. Lead release qualification activities and ensure high confidence in product quality before customer deployment.
Drive improvements in test coverage, risk assessment, traceability, and testing. Own quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting related to product readiness. Test Automation Development Design and implement scalable automated testing frameworks. Expand automated coverage across: Embedded and device functionality REST/SSE APIs Mobile and Web applications Cloud services Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Partner with development teams to improve testability and observability of products. AI-Assisted Testing and Innovation Lead the design and implementation of next-generation AI-assisted testing infrastructure through agent-based systems capable of: Observing product behavior Analyzing source code Interpreting device and application logs Consuming telemetry and operational data Generating test plans and test scenarios automatically Identifying test gaps and quality risks Producing actionable recommendations for developers Evaluate and integrate modern AI technologies including LLMs, coding agents, and automated reasoning systems into the testing lifecycle.
You have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. 10+ years of software development, test automation, or quality engineering experience. 2+ years leading technical teams or mentoring engineers. Strong software development skills in one or more modern programming languages such as: TypeScript/JavaScript Python C# Experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
Experience testing distributed systems, cloud services, and APIs. Experience working in Agile software development environments.
