About the Role

Hello, RNs! Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Private Duty School Nurse (PDN) to deliver 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs in a school setting in Aurora, CO. In this role, you’ll provide individualized medical care throughout the school day, helping a student safely access their education while supporting their health, safety, and overall well-being.

This is an excellent opportunity for nurses interested in pediatrics, school-based care, or making a lasting impact through consistent, student-centered support. You'll collaborate closely with school teams, families, and healthcare providers to help students thrive.

What You’ll Do

Provide 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs throughout the school day

Monitor and manage chronic medical conditions and student health needs

Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and care plans

Respond to health concerns and emergencies while following school safety protocols

Maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with medical plans

Collaborate closely with families, school staff, related service providers, and medical teams

Support student participation, safety, and access within the educational environment

Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as appropriate  

What We’re Looking For

Active Colorado State RN license

School Nursing CDE endorsement (or willingness to obtain) preferred

Ability to pass fingerprinting and background check

Pediatric, school nursing, or medically complex care experience preferred. 

Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and compassion
