Part Time Nanny
Job description
Part-Time Nanny – New Milton Location: New Milton, Hampshire Pay: £16 per hour Hours: Initially 9 hours per week, with scope for additional hours Days: Monday, Thursday and Friday Start date: As soon as possible Essential: Full driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the rural location About the role Freedom Care is looking for a kind, caring and bubbly nanny to support a family with their six-month-old baby in New Milton.
This is a long-term opportunity to build a trusting relationship and grow with the family. You will provide attentive care, follow the baby’s established routine and encourage their development through age-appropriate play. The parents work from home, and there is an elderly dog in the household, so you should be comfortable working alongside parents and around pets.
Hours required Monday, Thursday and Friday. Initially 9 hours per week. Proposed hours are 12pm–3pm, although the family is flexible and has also expressed a preference for evenings. The final working pattern will be agreed with the successful applicant. Additional hours are expected to become available as the nanny settles into the role.
Your responsibilities
Provide warm, responsive care, keeping the baby safe, comfortable and content. Follow the family’s routines for feeding, sleep and daily care. Prepare and give feeds, monitoring and sharing relevant information with the parents. Support weaning in partnership with the family when appropriate. Plan age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development.
Attend to nappy changes, hygiene and other personal care needs. Keep the baby’s play areas and feeding equipment clean and tidy. Communicate openly with the parents and respect the family’s household arrangements.
About you
A kind, patient and reliable person who enjoys caring for babies. Relevant hands-on experience with babies, whether through nannying, other childcare roles or raising your own children. An understanding of infant development, safe sleep, feeding and weaning. Comfortable with the practical aspects of baby care, including floor-based play and lifting and carrying a baby.
Able to build positive relationships and work respectfully with parents who are at home. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Formal childcare qualifications are welcomed but are not essential if you have substantial relevant experience.
What we offer
£16 per hour. A long-term role with the opportunity to grow alongside the family. Flexibility around the agreed working hours. Scope for additional hours as the role develops. Additional payment for agreed travel undertaken with the child. How to apply If you would love to make a positive difference to a baby’s early years, we would like to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV and a brief summary of your experience caring for babies, together with your availability.
