Job description
The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is seeking to hire a full-time Substation General Foreman to join our growing team!
Essential Job Functions:

Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of electrical crews, including Foremen and Journeymen, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Assign tasks, set priorities, and provide clear instructions to team members.

Mentor and train crew members, fostering skill development and adherence to safety protocols.

Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of electrical systems and components.

Coordinate work within the tenets of IBEW contract and follow the ALBAT policies with regard to apprentices

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve issues and maintain progress.

Monitor project schedules and adjust labor and resources to meet deadlines.

Promote a strong culture of safety by enforcing safety policies, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.

Inspect worksites and equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

Ensure all work is performed to meet quality standards and project specifications.

Conduct inspections to verify proper installation and functionality of electrical systems.
-
Address and resolve quality issues promptly.

Maintain accurate records of work hours, materials, and equipment used.

Prepare and submit daily or weekly progress reports to project management.

Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to minimize downtime.

Serve as the primary liaison between field crews and project management, ensuring clear and consistent communication.

Represent the company in meetings with clients, contractors, and union representatives as required.
Qualifications:

Journeyman certification required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Construction or related field preferred
-
Strong knowledge in both civil and electrical substation construction, maintenance and related safety practices.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
