- Cancer Center Providers Position Description: The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with cancer and hematologic conditions across the continuum of care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical exams
- Diagnose and manage oncology and hematology conditions, including treatment-related side effects and complications
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and survivorship plans in collaboration with physicians
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging related to cancer care
- Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment options, symptom management, and supportive care
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including infusion services, radiation oncology, and support services
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record Qualifications
- Current Louisiana RN and APRN licensure required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Oncology, hematology, or internal medicine experience preferred
