Chemistry Supervisor

The Chemistry Supervisor provides direction, oversight, and guidance for the activities in the Chemistry Department. Under minimal direct supervision, the Chemistry Supervisor performs, coordinates, and controls the daily technical functions necessary for the efficient functioning of the Chemistry Department. This includes writing and reviewing departmental procedures, monitoring daily quality control, oversight of proficiency testing, training of laboratory staff, instrument functionality, instrument calibration, evaluation and implementation of new instrumentation and procedures as set forth by the laboratory and accrediting agencies.

Advanced knowledge regarding normal and abnormal clinical chemistry results is required for accurate review and reporting of patient results.
