• Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm 8am - 6pm Rotating on- call schedule In your day-to-day, you will: Deliver exceptional nursing care for post-operative and critically ill surgical patients in the ICU. Collaborate closely with surgeons and specialty teams to provide outstanding patient care. Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment. Calculate drug dosages and administer intravenous medications and fluid therapy accurately. Monitor ECGs and identify abnormal cardiac rhythms. Assess patients for pulse deficits and changes in cardiovascular status. Manage feeding tubes, chest tubes, urinary bladder expression, and jugular catheter maintenance. Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and phlebotomy. Prioritize patient care while working independently in a fast-paced, high-intensity ICU environment. Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with the clinical team. Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams. Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture. What You Bring Minimum of one year of ICU or Surgery experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) required. Strong critical thinking skills and commitment to exceptional nursing care. Experience calculating drug dosages and administering IV medications and fluids. Proficiency with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and advanced patient monitoring. Experience with ECG interpretation, feeding tubes, chest tube maintenance, and critical patient nursing care. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while remaining calm and effective in high-pressure situations. A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
