Front of House Lead Server – Bistro 313 Department: Bistro 313 at Bergamos Retreat Reports to: Owner, working with the Lead Kitchen Manager Employment type: Full-time, hourly Pay: $10/hr plus tips, with a lead differential for added responsibilities ABOUT US Bistro 313 is the on-site bistro at Bergamos Retreat, a luxury day spa offering spa, salon, café and wine.

Our guests expect a calm, polished experience from the moment they sit down, and we're looking for a gracious, hands-on leader to set that standard every day. THE ROLE The Front of House Lead Server is a working leader. You'll serve guests on regular shifts while overseeing scheduling, hiring, training, events and the overall polish of the dining room.

You'll work closely with our kitchen leadership and lead the team by example.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work regular serving shifts and set the standard for gracious, knowledgeable service: menu and wine recommendations, attentive pacing and spotless table presentation.
• Build and post weekly front of house schedules within labor targets; manage time-off requests, shift swaps and call-outs.
• Screen applicants, schedule and conduct interviews, and onboard new team members.
• Train staff on service standards, menu, wine and beverage knowledge, POS and opening/closing procedures; keep training checklists current.
• Coach the team day to day, document performance concerns and recommend corrective action or write-ups to ownership.
• Keep the dining room, bar, patio and restrooms spotless and organized; own side-work and cleaning checklists.
• Lead pre-shift huddles and run the floor during service, including seating flow, table checks and resolving guest concerns with grace.
• Coordinate with the kitchen on specials, 86'd items, timing and spa guest orders.
• Coordinate private events, wine dinners, showers and group gatherings from first inquiry through menu proposals, deposits, timelines, staffing, setup and on-site execution.
• Partner with the Chef on event menus and with the spa team on spa-and-dining packages and group bookings.
• Maintain the event calendar, follow up with hosts afterward and help develop seasonal and signature events.
• Track front of house supplies, linens, glassware and paper goods, and place or recommend orders.
• Oversee opening and closing duties, cash handling, drawer counts and end-of-day reports.
• Uphold food safety, responsible alcohol service and health code standards; keep the bistro inspection-ready.
• Gather guest feedback and online reviews and suggest service improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of serving experience in an upscale or fine dining setting, including at least 1 year as a lead, trainer or shift supervisor.
• Experience with scheduling, training and interviewing.
• Experience planning or coordinating private events is a plus.
• Polished, warm communication with guests and team members.
• Organized, detail-oriented and calm under pressure.
• Food handler and alcohol seller/server certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Comfortable with POS systems and scheduling tools.
• Available weekends, evenings and some holidays.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Wine knowledge or luxury hospitality experience is a plus.
