Certified Pharmacy Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:## Provides technical and operational support to the outpatient pharmacy under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsible for accurate prescription processing, medication preparation and dispensing, inventory management, third-party claim resolution, and patient service activities. The technician performs all duties in accordance with North Carolina Board of Pharmacy regulations, organizational policies, and applicable federal and state requirements.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required## ######## High School Diploma or equivalent. ######## Current Registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) within 30 days of employment or enrolled in Pharmacy School ######## CPhT from PTCB or enrolled in Pharmacy School ######## 1 year prior pharmacy technician experience Preferred##################### ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:# Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication relevant to adult and geriatric patients.

Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
