Job description
Job Title: Sanitation Associate FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Type: Full-Time Location: New Brunswick, NJ Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor JOB DESCRIPTION Job Overview: The Sanitation Associate performs cleaning and sanitation of production floors, equipment, and facility structures in accordance with the Facility Sanitation Schedule, as directed by the Supervisor.
Also responsible for operating machinery, handling materials, and performing a variety of tasks to ensure that our production process runs efficiently.
Responsibilities
Perform cleaning and sanitation of production floors, walls, drains, facility structures (doors, drums, racks, pipes, ducts, etc.), facility rooms, overhead structures, and building exteriors following the Facility Sanitation Schedule Conduct visual inspections before and after cleaning Safely handle and mix cleaning chemicals to use as cleaning agents and disinfectants, and operate cleaning equipment (e.
g., mops, floor scrubbers, pressure washers) safely and effectively in designated areas Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on cleaning equipment Accurately complete all sanitation logs, checklists, and records to document cleaning activities, including chemicals used and completion time Manage and properly dispose of waste and recycling materials from production areas and building exteriors on a regular basis Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); immediately report any safety hazards Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively to minimize downtime Assist in pest control prevention efforts and report any sanitation concerns to the Sanitation Supervisor Provide support for cleaning and sanitation tasks in other departments (e.
g., production, packaging) as needed to maintain overall facility cleanliness Perform other cleaning, sanitation, and operational duties as assigned Operate machinery and equipment to manufacture products Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards Assemble and package products for shipment Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents Report any machinery or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel As needed, will perform secondary responsibilities of a manufacturing associate.
Requirements
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred but not required High school diploma or equivalent Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently Strong attention to detail and quality control Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in work processes Ability to safely handle, mix, and apply industrial cleaning chemicals and disinfectants per company SOPs Comfortable using cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and pressure washers Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time Working Conditions The Sanitation Associate will work primarily in a manufacturing environment, which may be noisy, involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, and require the use of personal protective equipment.
This role requires physical activity, including standing, bending, and lifting, for extended periods. The work schedule may include overtime. Work Remotely No Schedule: 8-10 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Overtime eligible according to local, state, & federal wage & hour laws.
