Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Part-Time Autism Aide with the GIANT Steps Preschool Program in Orem, Utah! This rewarding opportunity offers a competitive wage of $17.50-$22.17/hour and the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of preschool-aged children with autism spectrum disorder. GIANT Steps is a specialized day-treatment program that partners with local school districts to provide evidence-based, individualized services in a structured classroom environment. As an Autism Aide, you'll work alongside therapists, educators, and families to help children build communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills that support lifelong success.

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM-3:30 PM Compensation: $17.50-$22.17 DOE

What You'll Do as an Autism Aide

  • Support preschool-aged children with autism during classroom and therapeutic activities.

  • Assist with implementing individualized treatment and behavior support plans under the direction of the clinical team.

  • Use evidence-based strategies such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, PECS, social stories, and naturalistic teaching techniques.

  • Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and daily living skills through structured activities and play.

  • Monitor client progress and document observations to support treatment goals.

  • Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and families to provide consistent, high-quality care.

  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment where children can thrive.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • One year of post-high school experience in social work or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of this requirement.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with young children

  • Ability to follow established guidelines and adapt to changing needs

  • Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred

  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn

  • Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase
