Role Overview

As a Furnace/Oven Room Operator, you will run heat-treat operations that support consistent product quality and throughput. This role exists to ensure annealing and related thermal cycles are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Key responsibilities include

• Load/unload parts and coils; stage material per work order requirements
• Set, monitor, and document furnace temperatures, cycle times, and process parameters
• Confirm processed product meets specification; escalate quality concerns promptly
• Complete required production and traceability paperwork with attention to detail
• Perform routine checks/housekeeping; report equipment issues and safety hazards

Required knowledge/skills:

• Strong knowledge of the annealing process; safety-conscious chemical handling awareness
• Ability to read and follow a work order; clear communication and dependable teamwork
• Solid work ethic in a fast-paced environment

Daily Workflow

You’ll start on day shift (Monday-Thursday, 5:40 a.m.-4:10 p.m.) by reviewing the day’s work orders and confirming the correct setup for each annealing run. Throughout the shift, you’ll rotate between finishing-process equipment-such as pickling baths and multiple furnace types (annealing, quench, belt, strip, strand, and continuous casting)-tracking progress and keeping documentation current. You’ll coordinate with teammates to keep material moving smoothly, respond to priority changes, and maintain a clean, controlled work area while supporting steady casting output and consistent results.
