JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Petoskey, Michigan Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7a – 4:30p Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered COVERAGE DATES Aug 21, 2026 – Aug 24, 2026 Sep 25, 2026 – Oct 08, 2026 Aug 28, 2026 – Sep 10, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 38 scopes (18 outpatient, 20 inpatient) FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Office Equipment Available: Onsite lab, XRay Specialty Backup Available: 2 physicians, 2 APPs onsite Support Staff Available: 2 physicians, 2 APPs REQUIRED PROCEDURES Endoscopy (Upper and Lower) Inpatient Consults JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified (will consider truly Board Eligible) Licenses: Active Michigan (MI) License and CSR; Universal License (IMLC) acceptable if dates 60+ days out DEA: Active DEA required (verbal confirmation at name clear) Certifications: ACLS Experience: Completed Fellowship with minimum 2–3 years of experience required Other Qualifications: Local candidates only (driving distance); COVID Vaccine required; Clean background (minor malpractice acceptable) Duties & Responsibilities Perform outpatient and inpatient endoscopy procedures (upper and lower) Provide inpatient GI consultations within scheduled hours Cover 24-hour weekend call (Sat/Sun) without weeknight call Document patient encounters in Cerner EMR Collaborate with on-site physicians and APPs to deliver comprehensive care
