Job description

This position requires an ACTIVE DoD security clearance. Applicants who do not currently hold an active clearance will not be considered. At PMAT , we work on mission-critical systems that support government and defense organizations, designing, maintaining, and securing technical capabilities across hardware, software, and infrastructure environments.

In this role, you'll contribute to the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and sustainment of complex electronic systems. Working alongside engineers, technicians, and government personnel, you'll help maintain system reliability, availability, and readiness in support of government requirements.

About the Role

As a Senior Electronic Systems Maintenance Technician, you will support the reliability and availability of complex electronic systems by performing organizational-level maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities. You'll work hands-on with integrated hardware and software in a secure, mission-critical environment, helping ensure systems operate reliably and meet established performance requirements.

This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise while collaborating with experienced government and contractor personnel.

Responsibilities

Perform organizational-level corrective and preventive maintenance on complex electronic equipment and associated subsystems. Assess, diagnose, isolate, and resolve hardware and software faults affecting system performance. Monitor and maintain system configurations in accordance with established technical and operational procedures.

Document maintenance actions, discrepancies, repairs, and system status in accordance with approved maintenance processes. Support system testing, troubleshooting, and verification following maintenance activities. Coordinate with government personnel, engineers, and other technicians to resolve complex technical issues.

Perform maintenance in accordance with technical manuals, configuration management procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. Support system readiness by maintaining equipment availability and responding to maintenance requirements.

Required Skills

and Experience Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on complex electronic equipment or integrated technical systems. Experience performing documented organizational-level maintenance on electronic or integrated systems. Experience monitoring, operating, and maintaining complex system configurations.

Experience supporting the maintenance and testing of multiple system configurations, hardware variants, or equipment modifications. Experience working with technical change documentation and configuration-specific maintenance procedures. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues in secure technical environments.

Ability to accurately document maintenance actions and follow established technical procedures. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team supporting mission-critical systems.

Preferred Skills

and Experience Previous experience supporting complex government or defense electronic systems. Experience with integrated hardware and software platforms or other complex technical systems. Familiarity with formal maintenance management processes and technical documentation. Experience supporting system installation, integration, testing, or modernization efforts.

Prior military technical service or equivalent civilian experience. Experience working in a government or defense contractor environment.

Education

and Certification Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field. Four (4) additional years of directly related electronic systems maintenance experience may be substituted for the required degree. Relevant government, defense, or original equipment manufacturer (OEM) technical certifications are desirable but not required.

Citizenship and Clearance Requirements U.S. citizenship required. No dual citizenship. Active Secret security clearance required. Active Top Secret security clearance preferred. Location / Address Onsite. Wallops Island, Virginia. Travel & Passport Less than 10% travel. Primarily domestic travel, if required, for technical meetings, training, or support activities.

Work Environment Work will be performed onsite and at government facilities as required. Travel may be necessary for technical coordination, training, and other business needs.
