Senior Analyst, Model Validator - Model Risk Management

Job Description Summary This Senior Analyst position will conduct model risk management and validation-related responsibilities in the independent validation and review of a variety of models, including (but not limited to) Transaction Monitoring, Customer Risk Scoring, and OFAC/Sanctions Screening systems, as well as fraud models.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage working relationships with model stakeholders. Monitor and keep abreast of changes related to regulations, industry best practices, and MRM policies. Develop and evidence validation plans for a variety of models. Lead, perform and/or assist in model validation, including model documentation, model policies and procedures, conceptual soundness, data quality, assumptions/limitations, output analysis and ongoing monitoring metrics.
Complete model validations and annual model reviews per validation plan. Maintain organized tracking of validation findings, issues, and remediations. Perform ongoing model monitoring, annual review and other independent model review tasks. Assist in model governance activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Regulatory requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC sanctions programs preferred.
Model Risk Management regulatory guidance SR 26-2 and OCC 2026-13 preferred. Statistics and other quantitative fields and data validation principles. The role of models in financial crime detection and prevention. Understanding of core model validation concepts and components. Skill in: Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation, data analysis, and reporting.
Clear written and verbal communication, especially in organizing findings and writing summaries. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving. Using data analysis software such as SQL, R, or Python for data validation and analysis. Ability to: Learn regulatory expectations and apply them to model validation work.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Financial Crimes, Risk, IT, and Compliance. Follow structured validation procedures and meet project deadlines. Document findings in clear, professional language. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
1-5 years of professional experience in model development, model validation, or strong quantitative experience, including recent graduates in quantitative or data analytics fields. Professional development, including certifications such as ACAMS is encouraged but not required.
