Ticket Scanner
Job description
Overview
We are looking for friendly and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Ticket Scanner . In this role, you will be responsible for scanning and verifying tickets at stadium entry points, assisting guests with entry procedures, and ensuring a smooth and efficient gate operation. This is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting event experience while providing excellent customer service.
This is a part-time, seasonal, event day position that will primarily support holiday and special events, with opportunities to work additional events throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and scan tickets using electronic scanning devices to verify entry. Ensure tickets are valid and assist with any scanning or access issues. Direct guests to appropriate seating areas, customer service booths, or other stadium locations as needed. Monitor entry points to prevent unauthorized access and address any security concerns.
Provide information about venue policies, seating arrangements, event activities, and promotions. Work closely with security and event staff to maintain a safe and organized entry process. Assist guests with mobility challenges or special access needs. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while handling large crowds.
Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle large crowds efficiently. Comfortable using electronic ticket scanners and basic technology. Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the entire duration of a shift (typically 4-6 hours per game, with potential for doubleheaders or extended events). Must be able to remain standing at a designated gate or station with limited opportunity to sit.
Requires frequent repetitive hand and arm motions for scanning tickets, tearing stubs, and directing guests. Must be able to occasionally lift or carry light items (under 20 lbs), such as a box of supplies, a stanchion, or a signage stand. Needs the ability to bend, stoop, or reach to assist guests, pick up items, or manage entryway equipment.
Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to efficiently handle tickets, operate a handheld scanner or tablet, and make quick, accurate exchanges. Work Conditions: This position works almost exclusively outdoors at stadium entry gate areas. You will be exposed to all seasonal weather conditions, including intense sun, heat, humidity, rain, and cold.
Hours are entirely event driven. This requires absolute availability for all home games, which include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts typically begin 60-90 minutes before gates open and may extend through the end of the game. Flexibility for special events, rain delays, or double-headers is required. Must adhere to all safety and security protocols, including bag check policies and crowd management procedures.
You are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor as a representative of the team.
