What You’ll Do: The duties and responsibilities of the Welcome Center Team Lead include, but are not limited to, the following: Inbound responsibilities include ensuring the proper unloading, transporting and put-away of products to include the assignment of trucks to doors. Outbound responsibilities include the picking, transporting, and loading of products to include sealing of trailers and proper staging of outbound loads. Inbound responsibilities include “Arriving” and “Checking In” the trailer by entering related information, such as the trailer number and bill number from the inbound BOL into the WMS system after the trailer has been physically verified against the inbound bill of lading as per outlined procedures.
• Outbound responsibilities include “Dispatching” the trailer in WMS by entering related information, such as the carrier move ID and trailer number after the outbound loaded trailer has been physically verified for trailer number, box temperature, reefer setting and seals according to the provided Outbound Trailer Tracker sheet and per outlined procedures.
• Gates out empty trailers in WMS after physically verifying trailer is empty.
• Welcomes and logs in all visitors and contractors and contacts expecting parties. Provides leadership and fosters positive employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and development of associates. Provides Shift Supervisor with feedback on associate performance for evaluations; provides continual feedback of both positive and negative performance. Maintain a manual log of Inbound and Outbound trailer activity. Assists the Shift Supervise with identifying and resolving process or procedural issues to improve productivity and expedite workflow. Assists the warehouse associates with resolving work/process problems. Examine and monitor welcome center associates work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to quality standards, common practices, and procedures. Exhibits safe behaviors and always promotes safe work practices. Participates in special projects as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: The skills and qualifications required for the Welcome Center Team Lead are outlined below: High school diploma or GED preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead a team, coordinate daily activities, and achieve results through others. Strong math skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Excel.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, including legible handwriting. Professional, courteous communication with customers, carriers, drivers, and team members. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Working knowledge of materials and inventory management processes and related systems.

Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, including bills of lading (BOLs). Reliable transportation and a dependable means of communication. Ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
