About Beaumont With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont, Texas, located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast.

What role you will play in our team We are looking for Machinist Technicians at our Beaumont, Texas Refinery. A Machinist is responsible for the repair of rotating equipment at the Beaumont Refinery. Plant equipment includes compressors, gas power engines, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, steam turbines, motors, fans, blowers, gearboxes, and hydraulic pumps.
Other tasks include the shop operation of a drill press, hydraulic lift, forklift, overhead cranes, engine lathes and milling machines, as well as field machinery repairs and alignment.
What you will do
Physically inspect and monitor equipment and/or the work area. Adjust equipment to meet operating specifications. Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas according to Refinery standards. Perform work on/off fixed, temporary, or portable elevated platforms.
About you
Skills and Qualifications Willing and able to work overtime as required Able to work in shops and field settings Demonstrate the ability to effectively develop, communicate, and implement plans Ability to read/interpret repair manuals and drawings Effective in oral and written communications, including effective meeting skills Ability to work with others in a team environment, including working toward team goals Able to identify and mitigate job and/or safety hazards Possess basic rigging and pipefitting knowledge.
Performs position in a manner that demonstrates professionalism, knowledge, understanding, and commitment for health and safety of oneself, others, and the surrounding communities and environment Preferred Qualifications / Experience High school diploma or equivalent A minimum of 5 years mechanical experience or technical training preferred A minimum of 5 years’ experience working or trained on reciprocating compressors Mechanical/maintenance experience in a refinery, chemical plant or other manufacturing plant.
Experience in troubleshooting/repair all types of mechanical equipment Experience performing maintenance on all types of pumps, turbines, and compressors. Experience operating shop machinery (lathes, drill presses, etc.) Ability to perform close tolerance mechanical/machine work. Possess knowledge and the ability to use precision measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, steel rulers, etc.)
