Strategic Account Executive
$250,000
Against the New York City typical range
Job description
About Hexmodal Hexmodal builds smart devices and a simple software platform that help facilities teams automate routine compliance testing, monitoring, and documentation. Our technology helps teams spend less time on manual rounds and more time on the maintenance work that keeps buildings operating safely. Today, Hexmodal supports more than 180 health systems across 48 states.
THE ROLE (ALSO THE MISSION) We are looking for a Strategic Account Executive to own and close Hexmodal's largest enterprise opportunities, which are system-wide agreements with the biggest health systems in the country. We already sell into many of those systems and we are under 1% penetrated in most of them, because today the revenue arrives one facility at a time.
This role exists to change the shape of the deal. You will turn a system relationship into a single corporate commitment covering every site instead of a stream of site-by-site purchase orders. That shift is the difference between a $50K account and a $1M one. Cycles here run six to nine months with several stakeholder groups and a real procurement process, and you get structured onboarding, an established methodology, and direct executive support on your biggest deals.
HERE ARE SOME WAYS YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT (ALSO OUTCOMES OF THE ROLE)
- Hit quota consistently. Own an assigned territory and carry new-logo revenue against a monthly and quarterly number.
- Lead detailed discovery with Facilities, Finance, and Operations stakeholders to uncover compliance pain, labor cost, regulatory exposure, and urgency.
- Build proposals, labor-savings analyses, and ROI models that quantify what automated compliance is worth in that customer's building.
- Manage opportunities from discovery through close, walking buying committees through budget approval, compliance review, and contracting.
- Run a high-velocity process. Mid-market cycles should close fast, so a deal that has not moved in 30 days gets diagnosed or gets called down.
- Develop the territory. Build relationships with new accounts, work alongside SDRs and on-the-ground reps, and use conferences and trade shows to source opportunities.
- Keep the CRM clean. Accurate stage, next task, and confidence on every open deal, because our forecast is built from it.
- Report performance honestly. Regular reporting to leadership on deals and daily activity, plus a read on what is working in the territory and what is not.
- Travel occasionally to key accounts for site visits, facility walkthroughs, and in-person demos. COMPETENCIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE - 2-3+ years in a Sales Development or Account Executive role, preferably facilities or healthcare.
- Pain-based selling. Asks questions and discovers pain rather than presenting features.
- A quantitative, process-based approach to sales. Tracks their own activity and conversion.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed a sales target regularly, with numbers they can quote.
- A clear call plan and a repeatable process, including pre-meeting preparation and disciplined follow-up.
- Transactional sales instinct. Uncovers the next step and moves the pipeline forward rather than settling into a friendly relationship that never closes.
- Composure and conciseness. Handles questions without derailing and speaks like a friend.
- Coachability. Adjusts approach based on feedback and shows the change quickly.
- Familiarity with CRM software such as Odoo, HubSpot, or Salesforce, and treats pipeline hygiene as a discipline rather than admin.
- Proven high performer in a startup environment. BONUS POINTS (NICE TO HAVES FOR THIS ROLE)
- Familiarity with the healthcare industry and facilities management.
- Experience selling a physical product where installation is part of the sale.
- Comfort building an ROI or labor-savings model without help from finance.
- Trade show or field-event selling experience.
Compensation
& Benefits We offer competitive compensation along with meaningful equity so you share in the value you help create. Our benefits include: - 401(k) match - 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision premiums for you and 80% coverage for dependents
- Paid parental leave (for all parents)
- Unlimited PTO Why Hexmodal At Hexmodal, you’ll work on real problems with real-world constraints and have meaningful ownership over the results. We’re a growing team that values simplicity, accountability, curiosity, and respect for the facilities professionals we serve. If you’re excited to build practical technology that makes an important job easier, we’d like to hear from you. How to apply Click the link below to apply.
