About the Role
Alex and Ani is looking for a Merchandise Manager to join the Merchandising team and play a key role in shaping and managing the product assortment. This role owns day-to-day merchandising execution across product performance, assortment decisions, trends, and seasonal launches within the team's Seasonal View framework. The Merchandise Manager works closely with partners across Merchandise Planning, Design, Product Development, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Operations to turn product and business insights into action. The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially minded, highly organized, and curious about the customer, with strong product instincts and the judgment to make informed merchandising decisions. What You’ll Do: Line Planning & Hindsighting Analyze prior-season performance (Hindsighting) to inform SKU rationalization and future assortment decisions Research competitive and market trends to identify customer insights and assortment opportunities Create and maintain the fully attributed line plan — including SKU, pricing, finishes, continuative styles, and new SKU development — in partnership with Product Development and Design Buy Quantification & Review Quantify introductory buys based on product strategy, historical performance, and business opportunity Finalize MSRPs and hero item nominations Establish product and lifecycle attribution Review proposed buys and assortment composition to ensure alignment with the Seasonal View Launch & In-Season Management Support product launches, assortment changes, and key seasonal moments Collaborate with E-Commerce and Marketing to ensure product assortment and merchandising strategies are reflected across customer touchpoints Own product nominations for promotional events Lead Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) and ad hoc merchandising analysis; prepare presentations, business recaps, and materials for team and cross-functional meetings Monitor product performance and revisit product attribution and lifecycle health as the business evolves What You Bring: 3–5+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, planning, or a related function, ideally within jewelry, accessories, fashion, beauty, or another high SKU consumer category Strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency, with experience working across sales, inventory, margin, and product performance data Ability to translate data into clear, actionable merchandising recommendations Commercial mindset with strong curiosity about customers, products, trends, and performance Self-directed, highly organized, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced, remote environment Familiarity with Shopify, Airtable; Claude experience a plus
