Head Custodian -Full-time

Description: Head Custodian Hours 5:30 AM-2:00 PM Qualifications: High-school diploma or equivalent Experience in custodial or facilities work preferred Ability to perform basic cleaning and minor maintenance tasks Ability to lead and direct custodial staff Ability to prioritize work and stay organized Ability to communicate clearly with staff and supervisors Ability to use email and the work order system to receive, update, and complete assigned work Ability to work independently with limited supervision Core Responsibilities: Building Operations Monitor building systems and report issues through work order system Perform basic maintenance tasks (lights, filters, and minor fixes defined as quick, low-risk tasks that can be completed in under 30 minutes, without specialized training or permits) Complete assigned work orders, provide updates, and close out tasks in the system Cleanliness & Appearance a.

Maintain consistent cleaning standards across all areas b. Ensure public-facing spaces are clean, presentable, and welcoming c. Support events with efficient setup and teardown Team Leadership Direct daily work of custodial staff Ensure work is completed to standard Train and support custodial team members Grounds & Exterior Support Maintain entrances, sidewalks, and immediate exterior areas Support seasonal needs (snow and ice removal, basic upkeep, etc) Communication & Planning Submit and track work orders Manage supplies and inventory Communicate building needs to Director of Facilities Flexibility & Support Across Buildings Provide support at other district facilities as needed Adjust schedule or location based on district priorities Additional Responsibilities Perform all other duties as assigned to support district operations and priorities Terms of employment: 260 days (twelve months) Salary is based on NBESS contract.

Starting wage depends on experience. Minimum starting wage is $19.25 per hour plus IMRF.
