Senior Software Engineer, Browser Synthetics - ThousandEyes

Thousand. Eyes is deeply integrated across the entire Cisco technology portfolio and beyond, helping customers deploy at scale while also delivering AI-powered assurance insights within Cisco’s leading Networking, Security, Collaboration, and Observability portfolios. The Browser Synthetics Team builds the systems customers use to create and run browser-based synthetic tests.

Customers write transaction scripts, which the platform executes across a fleet of Thousand. Eyes agents. The Thousand. Eyes Recorder is a standalone application that helps customers create these tests locally. Your Impact As a software engineer on this team, you will build secure, scalable systems for running synthetic tests across a global fleet of Thousand.

Eyes agents. You will help design and improve the services that schedule and execute customer-authored transaction scripts, as well as the Thousand. Eyes Recorder application customers use to create tests locally. Your work will help enterprise customers assess the performance and reliability of their digital experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

Professional software development experience using Java or Go. Experience designing and implementing APIs in distributed software architectures. Experience with Git, automated testing, and continuous integration and delivery workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Deep knowledge of Chromium orchestration through the Chrome Dev. Tools Protocol (CDP). Familiarity with container engines such as runc, crun, or podman, and programmatic management of container lifecycles.

Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Codex or Claude. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on a cross-functional team.
