Technical Designer

Key Responsibilities

Design systems for commercial and industrial purposes, ensuring design aligns with system guidelines and project scope / BOQ . Adhere to the quoted budget costs and aim to increase project profitability through valued engineering, create variation opportunities and upselling. Assist in all project aspects from inception to completion, including the updating of the contract BOQ with the approved drawings, value engineering, commissioning, and project documentation for designed systems.

Conduct site surveys and assessments to oversee the installation quality and ensure functionality of the designed and installed system. Design Collaboration and Coordination : Develop and implement internal design guides, procedures, tools, and documents. Plan, design, and cost engineer projects in accordance with company policies and procedures Continuously communicate with clients and internally with all stakeholders, including project managers and design engineers when assigned on the job.

Workload Management: Pre-plan jobs and deploy a prioritised work schedule with appropriate time deadlines, overseeing the commissioning process to ensure seamless system integration and functionality. Set, monitor, review work-load schedule, proactively communicating issues to the manager as they arise. Maintain organised technical and non-technical documents, ensuring all engineering data is updated and easily accessible to all team members.

Quality Assurance and Compliance: Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving design issues to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards. Oversee project activities, ensuring appropriate methods are employed and company standards (ISO, LPCB) are implemented. Ensure effective functionality of designed fire protection and security systems.

Required Qualifications & Experience Preferably possess a Diploma in engineering or any other field related to fire fighting and security systems. Proven experience in designing fire protection and security systems for commercial and industrial purposes. Proficiency in using Auto. Cad software. V alid Maltese driving license .

Consistently punctual and reliable in meeting deadlines and commitments.

Proficiency in using Auto. Cad software . Basic knowledge of other trades and be able to interpret other M&E drawings. Proficiency in relevant software tools and design methodologies.
