Ed Job title Center Operations Support Partner Program Head Start/Early Head Start Reports to Facilities Director FLSA Status Non-exempt Last Revision March 2026 General Description The Center Operations Support Partner plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for children, families, and staff.
This position ensures the center is well-maintained through custodial and maintenance duties while also providing operational and classroom support as needed. Required Competencies All Generation. Ed Employees Reliability/Dependability

- Effective Communication Role Specific Technical Issue Diagnosis Systematic Preventative Action Environmental Sensitivity Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform daily custodial duties, including cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, andcommon areastomaintaina healthy and sanitary environment. Ensure safe and proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenancesupplies, andnotify supervisor of needed materials or repairs. Conduct regular playground sweeps and safety checks, ensuring the area is free from hazards and safe for children’s use. Provide classroom support when needed,assistingwith supervision, transitions, andmaintaininga safe and orderly environment. Coverstafflunch breaks or other short-term absences tomaintainclassroom ratios and ensure uninterrupted care and supervision. Support teachers and staff during arrival and dismissal routines,meal times, and center events as needed. Respond promptly to maintenance or custodial requests to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met. Assistwith the setup and breakdown of furniture, equipment, and materials for classrooms or events. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation proceduresin accordance withstate licensing, Head Start, and organizational policies. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with staff, families, and children. Perform other duties as assigned to support center operations and the overall mission of the organization. Flexible to travel to other centers toassistwhen needed. Essential Qualifications Education and Experience: High school diploma or GEDrequired. Prior custodial, maintenance, or early childhood center experience preferred. Experience working in a team environment and supporting diverse staff and families is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards consistently. Strong attention to detail and pride inmaintaininga clean, organized environment. Flexibility to shift between custodial, classroom, and operational support tasks throughout the day. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with staff, children, and families. Ability to lift, move, or carry items up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed. Commitment tomaintaininga safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children and staff. Physical, Mental and /or Visual Demands Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day. Must be able tolift upto 35lbs. Must be able to bend and stoop. Must be able to walk extended periods throughout thedaymonitoring. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, peripheraldepthand the ability to adjust focus. Generation.
