• Social Services, This position pays a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked from 11pm Friday through 11pm Sunday for both FT and PT employees. The Ohana Program is a group home in a community setting for adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for direct support professionals to make a positive difference with the Consumers in the program. The goal of each Consumer is to learn independence, which is driven by their Behavior Support Plan. You will work within a diverse population within the special needs community and their families. On a daily basis, you can expect to: Relate with adolescents, understand what they are going through in their lives and build rapport Attend and accompany academic events, shopping, community integration, socialization skills, family reunification, and medical visits Show adolescents that they can change their lives on their own by giving them direction Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to keep adolescents on the right track and use crisis de-escalation skills when necessary Assist in teaching life skills, such as cooking, laundry, chores and cleaning Get moving and go outside to play basketball, tennis, hiking, bean bag toss and other activities Lead by example and have a positive mindset Assist youth with bathing, feeding, grooming and other daily living skills Assist with medication administration Hours: Full-time and part-time positions are available. Must be able to work at least one weekend shift per week. This position requires either a Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus three years of experience working with children/adolescents.
