Senior Municipal Engineer

Hazen Canada is seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer to join our Calgary, Alberta office. This senior‑level role will lead and support a wide range of municipal drinking water and wastewater projects , from early planning and feasibility through detailed design, construction, and operational support. The successful candidate will serve as a technical and project management leader, working directly with municipal clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development efforts across Alberta and Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage municipal drinking water and wastewater projects through all phases of delivery, including planning, studies, design, construction, and commissioning Provide technical leadership in treatment process selection, development of design criteria, and preparation of engineering deliverables Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality to meet client expectations Coordinate directly with municipal clients, regulators, and project stakeholders Collaborate with internal technical specialists and multidisciplinary design teams Support proposal development and business development initiatives Supervise, mentor, and support the development of junior engineering staff Monitor project progress and recommend adjustments to achieve project objectives Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree an asset Professional Engineer (P.
