About the Role

In this newly created position of Director, Legal , you will join a team of senior legal professionals, providing and arranging legal advice for the Morrison group, with a p articular f ocus on advising on investment originatio n, asset management and divestment activities.

Your responsibilities

Act ing as a member of the deal team , managing external legal advisers, and advising on legal docume nts and st ructures for (primarily) private market transactions . Lead ing legal workstreams, including managing legal due diligence, negotiating transaction documentation, structuring, shareholder / consortium arr angements , debt financing and regulatory approvals.

Manag ing external legal advisers and coordinat ing legal inputs with investment, as set manage ment and operational teams. Advis ing on early-stage transaction documents, such as NBIOs, term sheets and framework agreements . Support ing portfolio entity and asset management activities, includi ng bolt-on acquisitions, refinancings, disputes, management incentive arrangements and shareholder matters.

Provid ing general legal advice across the Morrison group , contribut ing to legal precedents and knowledge-sharing, and build ing strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and external providers.

About You

Senior corporate/M&A lawyer with 8+ years’ post-qualification experience and admission to practise in the relevant jurisdiction . Strong M&A, corporate, commercial and transaction execution experience, ideally across private markets, energy / infrastructure, asset management and/or cross-border transactions. Proven ability to lead complex legal workstreams, work independently, manage external counsel and provide clear, commercial recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Excellent technical legal skills, negotiation capability, legal risk judgment, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented, with confidence operating in fast-moving, high-intensity transaction environments. Collaborative and relationship-focused, with strong interpersonal skills and a “one team” approach.

Highly organised and disciplined, with sound judgment on materiality, escalation and risk trade-offs across multiple workstreams and deadlines.
