Director of Development

Description Are you a strong communicator, relationship builder, and strategic thinker who wants your work to make a difference for children and families? Berkshire County Head Start is seeking a Director of Development to lead and grow our fundraising, grant development, donor and sponsor relations, marketing and communications, and community partnership efforts.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a comprehensive development function and expand the relationships and resources that support our organization's mission and long-term sustainability. Key Areas of Responsibility Fundraising and resource development Grant research and proposal writing Donor cultivation and stewardship Corporate sponsorship development Marketing, communications, and storytelling Community partnerships and engagement Strategic development and funding diversification Development tracking, reporting, and data management We're Looking for Someone Who: Is an exceptional writer and communicator Builds strong, genuine relationships Can manage multiple projects and priorities Is comfortable representing an organization in the community Understands fundraising, donor stewardship, communications, or related development work Is excited about building new partnerships and identifying new opportunities If you're ready to bring your communication, creativity, and relationship-building skills to an organization dedicated to children and families, we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field is required. Candidates should have two to five years of related experience in areas such as fundraising, grant writing, communications, marketing, community relations, public relations, or nonprofit administration.

CFRE certification and bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are preferred. This is an in person job, located at our Meadow Lane location in Pittsfield, MA.
