Job Summary

This person will provide support for the Hopkins High School volleyball program. He/She will be the coach for the JV volleyball team and assistant coach to the varsity team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting competitive HHS volleyball program In charge of running JV practices/ training sessions Coordinate with athletic administration and head varsity coach Communicate openly with parents of players Assist with clinics, camps, practices, etc. when combined with varsity or freshmen Help as needed with equipment management Help as needed with uniform distribution, organization, and retrieval Assist in setting up/taking down the gym for home matches Participate in athletic department coaches meetings Responsible for creating a positive environment where athletes can build strong relationships with other players and coaches Uphold and model the core values of the athletic department: Commitment, Pride, Sacrifice, Work Ethic, and Respect Demonstrate good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards the student-athletes, opposing team, officials, spectators, etc.

Other duties as assigned Non-required: Plan and coach highly engaging and challenging practices that develop skills and prepare players for high level varsity competition Encouraged to coach various sports clinics throughout school year Build strong, lasting relationships with athletes, inspiring them to hold themselves to a high standard of academics and character Establish and uphold team expectations that support athletes to develop increased agency, responsible autonomy and ownership over their commitments Maintain close relationships with families, including open communication Schedule and Compensation: No.
