Job description
Reporting to the Brand Manager, the Assistant Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the store and helps ensure smooth, efficient, and customer-focused service. This role assists with staff scheduling, training, and supervision, while also handling customer concerns, overseeing merchandising and inventory, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
The Assistant Manager acts as a key support to the Brand Manager, stepping in when needed to maintain operational excellence and contribute to achieving business goals. Summary of Responsibilities: Assist in training new employees. Prepare the schedule to ensure adequate staffing. Prepare weekly reports (sales, inventory, sell-through data) to be sent out every Monday.
Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process when necessary. Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained. Manage conflicts within the team and with customers. Discuss customer feedback with the Store Manager. Open and close the storefront. Ensure the sales floor is clean and organized at all times. Assist in maintaining the stock room and oversee merchandise displays on the sales floor.
Conduct regular inventory audits and manage stock replenishment. Stay up to date with new products. Oversee cash handling, bank deposits, and financial reporting. Ensure adherence to company policies. Maintain a safe working environment and uphold health and safety standards. Work closely with the Store Manager to achieve business goals.
Be available to work flexible hours during peak periods to meet business demands.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. One (1) years’ experience as a retail Assistant Manager or a similar role in sales is preferred. Familiarity with electronic equipment, such as cash registers and point-of-sales systems is preferred. Confident in leadership abilities and strong problem-solving skills. Friendly and positive attitude with exceptional customer service skills.
Excellent communication and time management skills. Adaptable to change and able to work well in a team environment. Strong math skills and attention to detail. Proactive thinking and the ability to assess store and team needs Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20lbs Ability to walk and stand for long (or sustained) periods Must be able to perform bending/twisting motions Operating Hours: Vineyard Vines & Waterfront Man operates Monday to Saturday from 9:30am - 6pm.
Operating hours are subject to change. During peak/holiday seasons operating hours will extend to include evenings and Sundays.
