LAFAYETTE SCHOOL CORPORATION JOB POSTING VIRTUAL ASSISTANT Position: Virtual Assistant Department: Special Education (Sunnyside Intermediate & Vinton Elementary) Work Schedule: Monday�Friday, when school is in session Hours: 29+ hours per week Rate of Pay: $15.40 per hour Classification: Non-Certified POSITION SUMMARY Lafayette School Corporation is seeking a dependable and student-centered Virtual Assistant to support students receiving Occupational Therapy services virtually from licensed providers.

The Virtual Assistant will help ensure students are prepared for and able to participate successfully in scheduled virtual therapy sessions. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working with students, using technology, following the direction of licensed therapy providers, and learning basic therapy-related strategies to support student participation and progress.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES The Virtual Assistant will: Supervise students while they participate in virtual therapy sessions provided by a licensed therapy provider. Pick up students from their regular classrooms and escort them to the designated therapy location. Return students to their classrooms following scheduled therapy sessions.

Prepare and set up computers, cameras, headsets, internet connections, and other technology needed for virtual therapy sessions. Assist students with accessing and appropriately using technology during therapy sessions. Learn and apply basic therapy-related strategies as directed by the licensed therapy provider. Reinforce activities, strategies, and skills identified by the licensed provider within the scope of the assistant's role.

Help students remain engaged, focused, and appropriately participating during virtual sessions. Prepare and organize therapy materials as directed. Communicate effectively with teachers, special education staff, therapy providers, and other school personnel regarding scheduling and student participation. Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA, Corporation procedures, and other applicable requirements.

Follow all Lafayette School Corporation policies, procedures, and expectations for student supervision and professional conduct. Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or equivalent. The ability to work effectively and patiently with students. Basic computer and technology skills, including the ability to learn virtual meeting and therapy platforms. The ability and willingness to learn and implement basic therapy-related strategies under the direction of a licensed provider.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Dependability and the ability to maintain a consistent work schedule. The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate professional judgment. The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, special education staff, and building administrators.

Successful completion of all Lafayette School Corporation employment requirements, including applicable background checks.

COMPENSATION
