As a Project Manager you will be responsible for managing a book of construction projects, working closely with executives, superintendents, and other leaders to estimate and oversee these projects. You will be expected to be versatile and able to work effectively with all levels of the organization and clients. With a strong focus on detail and decision-making, the Project Manager will play a crucial role in the success of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with customers to understand their needs and how our services can align with these needs
  • Oversee pursuits in both plan/spec and design-build projects to maintain a balance of work
  • Ensure efficient document control for all projects, including insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFI's, change orders, and correspondence
  • Take full responsibility for the financial, program, quality, safety, and client relationship aspects of contracted projects
  • Work closely with the project Superintendent to coordinate and direct tradesman and subcontractors
  • Plan and schedule construction activities to meet deadlines
  • Prepare budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports
  • Select suppliers and subcontractors with input from engineering, estimating, and purchasing as required
  • Verify and distribute correct drawings to the field
  • Create a schedule of values or billing format as required by the contract documents
  • Manage RFI's, change orders, submittals, and other project documentation, ensuring all team members are informed
  • Allocate necessary resources, tools, subcontractors, materials, and equipment to maintain or improve project schedules
  • Prepare and negotiate change order requests beyond the original scope
  • Provide oversight and direction to internal resources as needed
  • Administer project closeout documentation, including Operation and Maintenance manuals, startup reports, owner training, punch lists, and warranty responses
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and address any emerging issues Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience in construction management *Required
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills
  • Experience working in the trade industry *Preferred
  • Experience in mechanical piping and plumbing related project management, including project turn-over's and set-up, construction document evaluation, estimating, schedule development, and project controls (drawings, costs, and milestones) *Preferred
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects at various stages
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with general contractors, internal departments, vendors, subcontractors, shop, and field trades
  • Sound understanding of commercial construction, including designs, coordination, specification compliance, scheduling, change management, billings, and reporting
  • Experience with quality control, client development, and training and development a plus
