School Nurse
Job description
A Head Start nurse manages health, safety, and nutrition requirements for young children. The role provides direct care, tracks student health data, ensures compliance with federal Head Start performance standards, and acts as a liaison between families and community health services.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Head Start and Early Head Start health and safety mandates. Direct Patient Care: Provide crisis intervention for sudden illness or injury and manage daily student health needs. Data Tracking: Evaluate, maintain, and interpret student health records, immunizations, and medical evaluations. Disease Control: Monitor and prevent contagious diseases through early detection and tracking.
