Job description
The Surgical Coordinator/Scheduler is primarily responsible for providing complete patient pre-operative and post-operative surgical scheduling functions for the assigned physician. Coordinates scheduling of the surgical sites and appointments for all physicians while facilitating surgical dates with patients. Assure surgeon preferences with the available resources.
Obtains necessary authorizations and referrals from primary care physicians, specialists, and insurance companies. Medical office coordinator and additional duties may be assigned. Ensure that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner Education / Experience Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Requires 1-3 years of experience in Medical Setting, preferably in Physician Practice Requires at least 2 years of surgical scheduling experience Healthcare background is strongly desirable EMR/EHR experience preferred, Next. Gen or Athena experience preferred Proficiency in a windows environment with a working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and the Internet is required Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment #LI-JK1
