Job Overview: Job Summary James Construction Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Primoris Heavy Civil team in Madisonville, TX. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment for construction and civil engineering projects, ensuring all tasks are completed according to project specifications and safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities

Operate a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, compactors, and other construction machinery as required. * Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. * Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents to guide equipment operation.

Execute earthmoving, grading, trenching, and other heavy civil construction tasks accurately and efficiently. * Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant OSHA regulations. * Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is properly stored and secured. * Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other site personnel.

Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately. * Assist with manual labor tasks when equipment operation is not required. * Follow project timelines and contribute to the successful completion of projects. Job Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED equivalent. * Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment in a civil construction environment.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL Class A or B is a plus. * Proven ability to safely and proficiently operate multiple types of heavy equipment. * Strong understanding of grading, excavation, and earthmoving techniques. * Ability to read and interpret construction plans, surveys, and grade stakes.

Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and regulations. * Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as needed. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Company Overview: Primoris Heavy Civil provides highway, port, airfield, rail and marine (intermodal transportation) construction services to private commercial and industrial clients as well as governmental entities such as the Department of Transportation and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
