Summary: Under the supervision of the President/CEO, serve as the head pharmacist for Advantage Health Centers Responsibilities: Prepare medications by reviewing and assessing orders to identify, prevent and resolve drug related problems Provide accurate and understandable counseling and education to clients and staff Perform drug utilization reviews and check for drug interactions when filling every prescription Maintain clinical hours each week outside of the pharmacy to be available for clinical team meetings and discussions as necessary.

Provide oversite to pharmacy staff at assigned location, and serve as main point of contact for all site based pharmacy concerns Perform monthly audits of all Pharmacy locations, including the review of documentation, 340B compliance, proper inventory management, and other areas as applicable Communicate effectively with doctors, nurses, and other providers and leadership members.

Prepare and reports from assigned location to be sent to the President/CEO and CMO on a monthly basis, more or less often as required. Interview and hire all pharmacy staff with assistance of the President/ CEO and CMO as necessary Maintain patient rights and confidentiality at all times. Answer questions on drug therapy when appropriate.

Communicate with other offices regarding refills and other medication issues. Provide bubble packing to clients when necessary. Work with Suboxone coordinator to provide dispensings to clients. Notify and collaborate with Human Resources on staffing issues including but not limited to policy and procedures, employee hand book, disciplinary issues, ADA, FMLA, harassment, workers compensation, leaves of absence, legal issues, orientation, internal transfers, training of new and current staff.

Work collaboratively with Leadership Teams and Clinical Teams Complete other tasks as assigned from time to time. Decision Making Authority: Responsible for pharmacy leadership of the all locations as well as daily pharmacy duties. All other requirements to be done with advisement from the President/CEO and CMO. Minimum Job Requirements: Valid Michigan Pharmacist License, active and in good standing American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Posses a working knowledge of the disease concept of chemical dependency, chemical dependency treatment, Alcoholic’s Anonymous philosophy, and group dynamics.

If chemically dependent, a minimum of 5 years continuous sobriety/abstinence. Competencies: Ability to instruct, direct and evaluate employees. Thorough knowledge and application of the state and federal laws that govern the use of drugs/controlled substances. Excellent customer service skills including a positive attitude, friendly demeanor, calm voice, and patience.

Able to work independently and professionally in a fast paced environment. Courteous and respectful of clients, staff, prescribers, and vendors. Organized and able to organize work areas so others can find necessary documents. Ability to appropriately use office equipment including agency copiers, computers, cash register, credit card processor, etc.

Respects the confidentiality of information obtained through the position. Working knowledge of agency safety procedures. Willingly assists with special projects and other duties as assigned. Ongoing training needed to maintain current skills and knowledge in this position. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.

Interact with a computer. Communicate with peers and co-workers to convey or receive detailed or important information, instructions or ideas accurately. Requires some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This job is performed in an office setting, and in a generally clean and healthy environment. Occasionally employee will be required to go to other sites regarding work related matters in various weather conditions.
