Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Rail Surveyor to join a growing surveying team delivering a range of infrastructure and rail-related projects across the UK. Working alongside Lead Surveyors, Client Delivery Managers and Project Delivery Teams, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality survey data and project outputs, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with client requirements.
The successful candidate will have a strong surveying background, experience with laser scanning technology and the ability to manage survey data throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
Support the planning and delivery of surveying projects using the most appropriate technology and survey methodologies. Conduct surveying activities in accordance with company quality, safety and technical standards. Take ownership of assigned project elements, including survey delivery, logistics and data management.
Ensure project outputs are delivered accurately and in a client-ready format. Manage project data from collection through to final delivery in line with company procedures. Monitor project progress, ensuring deadlines and budget requirements are met. Liaise and coordinate with clients, project teams and subcontractors.
Support and mentor junior surveyors, assisting with their technical development. Provide feedback on junior staff performance to senior management. Work flexibly, including occasional night shifts and periods working away from home. Undertake additional duties as required to support project delivery.
Requirements
Requirements Approximately 3 years' surveying experience. Experience using laser scanning technology. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Good understanding of IT systems and software.
Full UK manual driving licence. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required. Desirable Experience Topographical surveying experience. Measured building surveying experience. Qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Experience using N4ce, Leica Cyclone and AutoCAD.
Own vehicle suitable for project travel and logistics. Experience working on rail or infrastructure projects.
