We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist General Surgery to join our growing surgical team at SSBZH. The successful candidate will provide high-quality surgical care for patients across the continuum of care, including assessment, diagnosis, operative management, and post-operative follow-up. The Specialist will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient safety, and quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions. Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures within the scope of granted clinical privileges. Conduct comprehensive pre-operative evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide perioperative and post-operative care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Manage surgical emergencies and participate in the on-call roster as required. Interpret and review diagnostic investigations relevant to surgical management. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
Promote evidence-based practice and adherence to international clinical guidelines.
Qualifications
MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical degree. Completion of a recognized residency training program in General Surgery. Specialty qualification in General Surgery recognized under the UAE Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR). Minimum of 5 years of post-specialty qualification experience as a General Surgeon. DOH License or DOH Eligibility as Specialist General Surgery.
Experience managing elective and emergency general surgical cases. Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
