Animation Supervisor
Job description
Role & Positioning The Animation Department Supervisor is responsible for the artistic and technical quality, the smooth functioning of their team, and the achievement of production objectives. They act as a key liaison between: their artistic/technical team the production team and the studio manager human resources other departments in the production chain They actively contribute to the overall vision of the film and the positive dynamics of the studio.
________________________________________ Managerial Responsibilities (Cross-Functional) Team Management Supervise, organize, and unite a team of artists and/or technicians Distribute tasks according to skills and production priorities Support the professional development of team members Provide regular, clear, and constructive feedback Identify individual or collective difficulties and propose solutions Ensure a healthy, respectful, and collaborative work environment HR Liaison Participate in recruitment (interviews, artistic/technical assessments) Contribute to the onboarding of new employees Collaborate with HR on: o performance management o annual reviews/feedback o prevention of stress or overload situations Represent the studio's values and rules to the team Management & Production Liaison Proactively report progress, risks, and needs Participate in production meetings and overall film monitoring Alert in case of schedule, workload, or quality deviations Propose realistic solutions adapted to the constraints of the feature film Implement and communicate the studio's strategic decisions within the department Artistic & Technical Responsibilities Guarantee the expected level of quality for a feature film Define and enforce the department's artistic and technical standards Validate key deliverables before they are handed off to subsequent departments Ensure the department's work is consistent with the film's vision Collaborate closely with other supervisors and production managers Anticipate pipeline issues and propose improvements Organizational Responsibilities Estimate workloads and participate in planning Optimize workflows and work methods Ensure deadlines and production constraints are met Prioritize effectively based on creative objectives and the schedule Document the department's processes and best practices Team absence management (planning & validation in Intranet) ________________________________________ Profile Required Skills Solid expertise in their artistic and/or technical field Very good knowledge of the animated feature film production pipeline Ability to make decisions Respect for deadlines and directives Excellent interpersonal communication skills Leadership and managerial approach Personal Qualities Sense of responsibility and reliability Integrity, kindness, and teaching ability Ability to manage pressure and the challenges of a feature film Team spirit and overall vision of the film Alignment with the studio's values
